~Christmas Eve with the Clements~

Christmas Eve was such a very special day and night this year! We had so much fun spending the day together as a family! As I mentioned in the previous post, the day was very relaxed and simple. We finished wrapping a few presents, straigtened up the house, and went to get some things for our Christmas Eve dinner. Aunt Joan and Uncle Preston also came over for a visit which was a real treat! A relaxing day...just the way Christmas Eve should be! I don't think I have ever not attended Christmas Eve service at Church, but with Bowdre and the dreary weather and the flu going around like crazy, we decided not to go this year. If you didn't already know, 5 month old babies are quite unpredictable! We started the evening preparing for Santa! I hear he likes Ooey Gooey Butter Cake, so that's exactly what we made him! We had a really fun evening preparing for Santa and for dinner! Bowdre was excited to take part in the fun too! We had a wonderful dinner of steak, aspargus, and mashed potatoes! It was delicious!

After dinner (and while Bowdre was happy), we wanted to take a few pictures! She was so adorable and cooperated so well! I know I will cherish these pictures forever! Such a sweet little lady!

And of course we had to get one with Mommy and Daddy too!!

After she had about all the pictures she could stand, Warren read The Night Before Christmas! Bowdre was quite intrigued.

And, we read the story of the birth of Jesus out of the Book of Luke too!
And before we went to bed, we had to make sure that we left out Santa's milk and cake!
What a magical night spent with our family! Merry Christmas everyone!

And All Through the House,
Not a Creature was Stirring,
Not Even a Mouse."
