~The Man I Compare Everyone To...My Dad~

First off, let me say that this post will consist of a lot of pictures. I have so many pictures of me and my dad that I love, that it was hard to narrow down which ones to put up today...so I decided to put them all up!!! My dad is a very special person to me! He is my rock and has always been a major supporter of me! When it came to sports, grades, college...it didn't matter what...my dad was and still is always pushing me to go for my dreams and to get out and experience the world! Don't hold back!

A little bit about him: He is the son of the late Watson and Anne Rocker. He grew up in Millen, Georgia, and went to church at Millen Baptist Church...the same church is is a member of today! Growing up, he tells stories of how he loved to play sports and ride his bike. He also tells of his many many many injuries from his bike, the trampoline, cars, etc. He went to high school at Jenkins County High School, and then went on to the University of Georgia. He is a major supporter of the Dawgs and goes to every home game that he can make it to...which is most! I call him their "Best Alumni!" I have so many memories of going to Athens with him and swinging by his fraternity house and going to the "Dog Walk." It was so much fun!!! He would return home from UGA during the summer and work at my granddad's bank, which is where he met my mom! He graduated from UGA with his degree in Economics, and came back to take over the banking business. Shortly after, he married my mom, and the rest is history! They got married in December of 1985, and I was born in December of 1986! One proud dad!

I am one lucky girl! I have so many fond memories of growing up and spending time with my dad. He taught me to ride a bike and to play my favorite sport...basketball! I know one of his favorite things to do was to watch me play basketball during high school. He was at every single game! We did so many things as a family. We took wonderful fun trips, spent a lot of time shark fishing in Hilton Head, playing sports, going to the movies and much much more! He is definitely the leader of our family, and has done a wonderful job teaching us to love and respect each other and mostly to keep God first in everything we do! Here are some more (well...lots more) pictures of me and my dad!

I really enjoy spending time with my dad! These days he enjoys working outside and building the family business, eating sushi, and spending time with his family! Of course, during the fall, most weekends he's going to be in Athens cheering on his team and during the spring and summer months, he can be found doing something outside!

The best day of my life was my wedding day on May 19, 2014, and was the day I married the love of my life. I've always heard that girls tend to marry men that remind them of their father. I will definitely have to say that's true in many ways! That's definitely one of the reasons why I love my husband so much! They even look alike...take a look!

Well...at least I think so! They are both handsome men, and I'm lucky to have both of them in my life! Anyway...back to my dad! He is super excited about becoming a grandfather this August (although I'm positive he won't go by grandfather, grandpa, pa or anything of that sort)! He's too young...lol! I know he is going to be the best grandfather in the world, because he definitely owns the title of the World's Best Dad! I love him so much! Our daughter will even be named after him! He's had and continues to have many roles! Husband, father, deacon, son-in-law, friend, brother, father-in law...but I think the best is yet to come...granddaddy! Our daughter is so blessed to be spoiled by him...just as I was! He's taught me so many things about life that I can't wait to pass on to her! Here are a few more of my favorite pictures! Enjoy!

I'm obsessed with wedding pictures as you can tell. Because of my parents and grandmother, it was the best day of my life. I got married at my home and my parents put so much work into making this the best day and most unforgettable day of my life! They worked for almost 2 years building buildings, planting trees, landscaping...my dad even broke his ankle in the process. :( He always will hold a very special place in my heart that no one can ever take! Love you dad!
