~My Granddaddy~

Watson W. Rocker was one of the most special people on Earth! He was my "granddaddy"! My grandmother, Anne King Rocker, died before I was born, when my dad was still in college. He was in banking, and was the proud owner of the Bank of Millen. He was also involved in many other organizations, including the Board of Education, the Hospital Board, and was a deacon at Millen Baptist Church! He was certainly a special but busy man! He loved spending time in his garden outside and was very well known for his amazing rose garden!

I loved to go with him to his pond and feed the fish! It was something that we really enjoyed doing together. My mom even had a portrait made of us on his farm that still hangs in my parent's house today! Here are a couple of the pictures from this day! These are probably my favorite pictures that I have of us!

One of his favorite things to do was to listen to the piano being played! I learned how to play the piano at a young age, and each time I would go to visit him at his house, or when he would come to our house, he would always want to hear me play! One of the hardest things I've ever had to do was to play the piano at his funeral...but I knew he was still listening to me play! Here are a few more of my favorite photos!

He really was such an amazing man, and I miss him very much! He lived just a few seconds down the road from me growing up, so I could go see him any time I wanted, which was quite often! Almost every Sunday, he came and ate Sunday lunch with us after church! Each and every holiday and birthday, I remember my granddaddy being there! He passed away in July 2011 and has been missed each and every day since! I've learned so many things from him! The things I am most thankful for is that he got to see many milestones in mine and my brother's life, and he got to meet my husband, Warren, before he passed away. I know he is watching over us every day in Heaven and is dancing with my grandmother once again!
