I decided I would use
today to catch up on some background blogging. My goal is to be completely
caught up by the time the baby's born....and I've got a lot to say...so I
better get to blogging! If you have read by profile, you know my name is Cameron
(Rocker) Clements. I've already introduced you to my family, but a little
repetition never hurt anyone. I grew up in Millen, Georgia. I had the best
childhood anyone could have! I had wonderful parents, a great "nana"
and "granddaddy," and of course an awesome brother. There were very
few dull moments in our household. Growing up, we loved to be together as a
family; playing basketball in the back yard, climbing in our treehouse,
swimming in the pool during the spring and summer, and going to the movies as a
family almost every week. My brother Mark and I were surrounded by Christian
parents and grandparents, and they raised us to treat people and ourselves with
respect, to love one another, to go for your dreams, and most importantly, to
keep God first always. Here are a few pictures of me during my early childhood!
My family were members of Millen Baptist Church.
At church and at home, I learned about Jesus! I participated in Hummingbird's,
GA's, Youth Choir, and many many more things! From kindergarten to 12th grade,
I went to a small private school in Waynesboro, GA, named Edmund Burke Academy!
There I was surrounded by wonderful teachers and great friends! I had a great
school experience. I loved to go to school every day and learn new information,
but also have fun with my friends and catch up on social time. (Things haven't
changed that much since then!) Once I got to high school, I participated in
many things from clubs and organizations to basketball and cheerleading!
I got to go on some
amazing trips during my high school days too! My junior year, we got to cheer
during the half-time show at the Florida Citrus Bowl in Orlanda, FL, on New
Year's Day!!! It was amazing! We also took some really fun trips as a family
too! We went to Destin, the mountains, and a really awesome trip to the Florida
Keys! Wonderful memories made! One of my favorite memories was my trip with the
Washington Youth Tour to Washington, D.C., for an entire week! I won an essay
contest and got to go on an all-expense paid trip to D.C.! Oh yea...did I
mention that I was on the COVER of Georgia Magazine! I'm famous!
All-in-all I had an
amazing childhood traveling and being with my family! Most people hate high
school and can't wait until the day they can turn their tassle...not me! I
loved high school! The friends, the sports, the fun, and all the memories! It
all was a great experience for me! I was blessed with amazing parents and
grandparents who gave me many opportunities to travel and be involved in many
things! The day did come when it was time to graduate and move on to the next
phase of my life...the college years!
I hope you have enjoyed getting to know me and
my background!
