~College and First Job!~

So as I was going through pictures, I noticed that I really don't have many from college. :( I've been trying to figure out why, and I think I know. A) I guess I didn't take as many and B) Facebook was bigger after I got out of college, so I guess I didn't document as well. I'm sure I have some prints around somewhere, but I'm not sure where (probably at my parent's house). Between college and career life, I've moved several times, so I guess they are somewhere waiting to be seen again! So enough about that.

The reason I wanted to post this blog is because of how much I really enjoyed college. After high school, I decided to go to Georgia Southern University. I had no idea what I wanted to major in, I just knew I wanted to live with my friend Brooke in a house and that I wanted to join a soriority, which I did.

I went through recruitment and joined Alpha Omicron Pi, which was one of the best decisions of my life. I gained so many friendships that I still cherish today! It was a fun experience!

I also started working at a law firm, Hall and Kirkland, which I continued to work at until right before my senior year! I worked in the bankruptcy area and learned so much! By working at this law firm, I also got to go on some pretty awesome trips! Las Vegas and Italy! It was amazing! I really enjoyed my time working there, and I got to meet one of my best friends, Cassie, who I'm still really close with to this day!

Not only did I get to join a great sorority and have an amazing part-time job, but I also got to spend one summer in Italy (which you already know about) and meet my dear friends Olivia, Natalie, and Liz!

I really did have such a fun experience in college! Between the friends and family time, I really enjoyed my 4 years at GSU! I really struggled the first couple of years choosing a major, but ultimately decided on Journalism! In May 2008, I graduated with my BS in Journalism! What a great day that was! The college years were over and it was time to get serious! I was so blessed to have a job within the first month of graduation. On June 6, 2008, I started my first job as an Admissions Recruiter in the Office of Admissions at Georgia Southern University. My job was to travel to Atlanta and the Northeast region of Georgia and recruit high school students. I went to high schools and attended college fairs, all in the name of my alma mater! It was a fun experience getting to travel to Atlanta on a regular basis and it was the perfect job for me! I really met some amazing people there and had really great co-workers! Guess who one person I met was???

My best friend...Leigh Anne! We had offices right next to each other and who knew that 5 years later we would become best friends! I really cherish my friendship with her and am so blessed to have her in my life! Working in the Admissions Office was a great experience for me! I met great people, learned so much about the professional world, and even met my husband and got engaged while I was working there!

I really did enjoy my time in college and my 3 years in Admissions! But all good things must come to an end! I was engaged at this point, trying to plan a wedding, and traveling was getting a bit too much for me! It was time to move on to something new! But let me back up a bit! I haven't even told you how I met my husband Warren yet! Here are a few pictures from my early working days in Admissions!
