~New York City~

In November of 2012, we traveled to New York City to celebrate Liz's bachelorette party! There are no words to describe what a great trip this was and how much fun we had! We did lots of touring and got to see some amazing sights. This was my first trip to the Big Apple, and I have to say...I LOVE IT!!!  The girls flew to NYC from Atlanta, and I flew from Savannah! This trip was just a couple of weeks after the awful hurricane hit the area, so a good many streets and subways were still shut down. Needless to say, my flight got delayed, and I had a very interesting time trying to make it to them. Picture this: a cab flying through the streets of New York City trying to reach the subway in time for the last trip before they shut it down for the night....yeah that cab had ME in it! But somehow, I made it from La Guardia Airport to our hotel in one piece. It took a plane, a cab, a subway,  and some walking, but I finally got there! And the trip/celebration began!!! Welcome to New York!

So we decided on Day 1 to get up really early and go into the city to try and get on the Today show! We were successful! We made it on the show!!!! Liz was all decked out in her bachelorette gear and we had signs and hats...it was a sight to see!

And guess who else made an appearance??? Can you say...Twilight! Liz even got her picture taken with him!!

I have to say...what an exciting way to start out the trip! After the Today show, we decided to stick around Rockefeller Plaza and look around! I've always seen the ice skating rink on TV, but it was really neat to see it in person!

After a quick bite to eat, we decided to do some walking and see what downtown Manhattan had to offer! We say some really cool places like Radio City!

And FAO Schwarz!

And during our walk, we saw some other famous places!!

After the long walk, we decided to take a carriage tour through Central Park. This was probably one of my favorite things we did! It was so pretty and relaxing!

After the tour, we had to hit up Times Square!!!

Looking back, we did alot in that one day! Wow!!! One night, we decided to go into the city and have dinner and go see the famous Rockettes show at Radio City! It was incredible!!!

Afterwards, we took a Pedi-cab ride down the streets of New York and got to see Times Square at night! What a sight!!!

The next day, we got up really early to make our appointment for our tour of the World Trade Center sight. It was such a moving experience. It's hard to describe in words. We also got to see the new Freedom Tower that was being built.

Afterwards, we grabbed some lunch at this small place right around the corner from the World Trade Center site.

We then decided to make our way back into the city for some more touring! Had to use the famous subway!

Once we figured out where we were going, we decided to make a stop in Grand Central Station!

And a couple other neat places like Carnegie Hall, Macy's, and Chinatown!

That night we decided just to go as we were to dinner in Little Italy! We found the best Italian restaurant in the world there...Puglia Ristorante! We had true authentic Italian food. I seriously haven't had that kind of Italian food since I was in Italy! We ended up staying there for hours, eating and laughing! They also had great entertainment! It was such a fun time, and I think we all enjoyed ourselves!

On our last day, Natalie and I decided to get up really early to go see a few more things, and Wall Street was definitely on our list!

We got to see the New York Stock Exchange Building...

The U.S. Custom House...

And the special spot where George Washington took the oath of office for the President of the United States!

We eventually made our way down to Battery Park. The damage from the hurricane was so severe that most businesses were shut down and the park was blocked off.

We did get to see what everyone comes to New York to see...Lady Liberty! What an awesome moment and experience! It is truly breathtaking!

Our last stop before the trip home was back to Manhattan for some gyro's and a couple more sights, like the Empire State Building and Madison Square Garden!

I had an amazing time with some great friends! It was a great trip and one I will always remember! These are the girls that I've traveled to Italy and Panama City with...so it was only fitting that we would travel to New York City together! AND...what better way to spend your bachelorette party than in NEW YORK! We love you Liz and hope you had a great time!
