~Fall is for Football~

Ever since I was little, college football, specifically University of Georgia football, was a big part of my life. As I've mentioned in previous blogs, my dad graduated from the University of Georgia and is probably one of their most loyal fans. My family has always had season tickets, and I rarely remember any Saturday that wasn't spent making the trip to watch the Dawgs play between the hedges in Stanford Stadium. It was something we all enjoyed doing as a family. Here's a picture of my dad one cold night in Athens a couple of years ago...

See what I mean? That's a true fan! Anyway, what is so ironic about this whole football situation is I married someone who graduated from Georgia Tech, and let me tell you...they are RIVALS! I still cheer for UGA as much as I can and usually do every year when they play each other. Here's the evidence!

Anyway, as the past few years have passed, Warren and I began to purchase Georgia Tech season tickets, so I don't make many trips to Athens anymore, but our car burns up the road to Atlanta in the fall. It's been fun to start our own family football traditions, like we had in Athens with my family. I can't wait to take our daughter to the games and dress her in adorable GA Tech cheerleading uniforms! I know we have many memories to make! I know Warren loves his school as much as my dad loves his...but it's always an interesting day every season when they play each other! I've learned just to go with the flow and support both sides! I'm the middle man :)

The one thing that has remained the same over the years and has transitioned from my childhood is our trips to the Varsity. After every UGA game, we would ALWAYS go to the Varsity and get chili dogs...my dad still does today. When we started going to Atlanta, it's the one thing I wouldn't give up on...I mean come on...they are seriously the best chili dogs in the entire world. So I'm super happy that tradition has continued!

What'll ya have? What'll ya have?
