One of my favorite
things I did during my wedding planning was taking my bridal portraits at my
parents house, Quinney Oaks Plantation. Yes, I did get married there too, but
there was something so special about spending the afternoon roaming around
inside and outside taking pictures in my favorite places! I also wore two
gowns. I wore my gown that my parents bought me to get married in, and I also
wore my grandmother, Anne King Rocker's, wedding gown. It was so special for me
to be able to take pictures in her gown, since I never got the chance to meet her.
It was also very special because I was very close to my grandfather who passed
away about a year before I got married, and I know it would have meant a lot to
him. I started out taking pictures in my gown in my bedroom...a room that is
very special to me.
We then moved into the
living room, another one of my favorite rooms. This room is so pretty to me,
and so different and unique. It's also the room where I learned to play the
piano. My nana bought this piano for my parents, and I love it! This is also
the room where my 5 year old portrait hangs...you can see it in the background
of some of the pictures!
Here are several of me
in my grandmother's gown. I also chose the bottom picture to be framed and
displayed at the wedding. It counted as my "Something Borrowed!"
This picture was
supposed to replicate my grandmother's portrait, which is hanging on the wall
in the background! I think it did it justice!
And here are some of my favorites from outside!
I really am blessed to
have grown up in such a beautiful home and to have had the opportunity to get
married there! It was an amazing day!
