~Family Reunion/Mountain Weekend~

Several weekends ago (I'm still trying to catch up on my blogging), we went to Blairsville, GA, for Warren's family reunion. Each year, typically the same weekend, Warren's family gets together for a weekend of fun. There is usually dinner Friday night, a Saturday get together, and then everyone heads home on Sunday. Warren and I have been to most of the last few. The first one I attended was in Jacksonville, then followed by Rome, and the lake near Augusta last year. This year was so much fun, mostly because Warren and I had Bowdre. She had so much fun meeting everyone, and Warren and I had a great time catching up to family members! Since I was chasing Bowdre around most of the time, I didn't get a chance to take many pictures unfortunately, but we had a blast!

We met the family in Blairsville Friday night and had dinner at a local restaurant. Saturday, we met at a local bank's community room, for lunch and then spent most of the day catching up. We met back there Saturday night for leftovers, and then Warren and I headed out after around lunch on Sunday! It was a jam packed weekend, but the mountain view were wonderful, the cabin was beautiful (more on this in a sec), and the company was the best part of all!

Here are a few pictures of Bowdre running around like a mad woman! She thinks she is so grown now that she can walk!

Aunt Joan got a cabin that we split between 4 families! We had so much fun hanging out together, talking and of course, eating! It was a beautiful cabin, and we enjoyed every minute of staying there!

We really had a wonderful time this year, and we are already looking forward to next year!!!!

~Happy Birthday Nana~

Today, August 5th, is like none other that have come before it. This day is the first time in 28 years that I won't be celebrating my Nana's birthday with her.

There are no words that could possibly describe how much I miss her. She is missed and loved dearly by all who knew her. She would have been 93 today!

This birthday for her is like none other as well. She is celebrating today at the feet of our Lord...what a wonderful birthday present that must be!

Happy Birthday Nana! I know we will celebrate again together one day! Life is definitely not the same without you, but thankfully, we learned from you what love and family is all about. We love you!

~Dear Bowdre-12 Months Old~

Dear Bowdre,

Again, sitting here in denial. I find myself doing a lot of that lately. It's just so hard to believe that one year ago our lives were about to change forever and we would experience a love like none other. Watching you grow this past year has been such a fun sight to see. You have gone from a completely helpless infant to a healthy happy big girl. It's been such fun going through all of the holidays together. At this point, you have seen them all, and all of the seasons too! I've decided that the end of July is the perfect time to have a baby, even though it was miserably hot!

You love everything...I could go on and on about all the things you love. There really isn't much that you don't like, except being in a car seat. Child, I hope you get over that REALLY soon. Other that that, you love eating, playing, singing, walking, talking, swimming, being outside, playing with Elle', and just about everything else!

Weight at birth: 8.1 pounds
Weight at 1 year: 27.7 pounds
Height at birth: 19 1/2 inches
Height at 1 year:  31 1/2 inches

Teeth: You have 4 teeth (2 on top, and 2 on bottom), but there are definitely more on the way!

Favorite toys: Your singing dog from Alicia and Seth, and your crazy coup car!

Words: MaMa, DaDa, Pop, Hey, Bye, and lots of other really funny words and sounds! You are trying so hard to talk!

Sleep: You have been sleeping through the night since you were 1 month old...and mommy and daddy are so thankful for that!

Foods: There really isn't much that you won't try, and we are just now starting on super big girl food. I think your favorite vegetable right now is squash, and your favorite fruit is probably a tie between watermelon and bananas!

You are so much fun to take places, since you enjoy everything!

We really have had such fun with you this past year, and can't wait for all the memories we will make as a family! We love you soooooo much!

~Happy 1st Birthday Bowdre~

It's hard to believe that our sweet baby turned one over a week ago on July 23rd. As you can tell, I'm a little behind on my blogging, but things have been super crazy busy for our little family lately, and I can't wait to tell you all about it!

Bowdre got up early on her birthday and was ready for the Birthday Breakfast of Champions...cheerios, graham crackers, oatmeal and bananas!

Unfortunately, I had to head to work, but I know Bowdre had a great morning with Gammy and Mrs. Sharon! Thankfully, I had to work in Swainsboro that afternoon, which put me getting off a little early, so I was able to come home and have some pool time with the birthday girl!

She had so much fun! She loves being outside and she loves the pool, so what a better way to spend your birthday than doing both! After we got all cleaned up from our pool time, we all headed to eat at Camino Real in Waynesboro. Bowdre loves beans and rice, so this was the perfect birthday dinner for our princess!

I'm so glad we all got to celebrate your birthday together, and it wouldn't be a birthday celebration without yummy birthday cake!
